Tracing existing oil lines (SS tube)

I have to trace out (ID) 200 oil lines on a piece of equipment. The goal is to ID each line and its destination with neither interrupting production or disconnecting the oil line. (currently this work is performed on a shutdown, by disconnect each line and blow it down to ID it, very messy, expensive and time consuming) Is there a devise (transmitter) available that could be hooked up onto the tubing near one end and can be detected from some point down the line. (lines are 30-100 ft long spanning 2 to 3 floors, can not be reliably visually traced )

An ideas would be helpful

I have used old phone headset and 9 VDC battery to do this. But obviously if pipes are shorted together you still need to determine which one you are hooked to check:
