Hey folks... I have a customer from the railway industry that wants to use one of my DC motor controllers to control the field current in a 1400hp traction alternator. On paper this looks kosher so it got me to wondering how much a real traction field controller costs. Say, something capable of delivering 0-400A output with 350VDC input.
