Hello,

I'm working in a R&D team on methods of limiting GAC transfer in water filtration for a surface water treatment plant. This has been a problem as the water plant is planning on installing a mean of membrane separation just after GAC filtration. Membrane clogging is accelerated by the problem of the fine particulates of GAC.

Has anyone ever had this issue first-hand? If so, are you able to limit the GAC transfer ?

Thank you.

On a smaller scale, i.e. inside a building, we always put screen filtration downstream of carbon cannisters and upstream of RO.

Thank you for your reply.

Are you able to measure the effectiveness of the screen filtration?

I would imagine you could put a smaller sized filter downstream of the first and collect the filtrate from the second, dry it and do a particle size analysis. Bit out of my wheelhouse, but a thought.
