transform pattern to a symbol.

Hello, We're running nx 6.0.5.3 and we received some sample notes and title block from our colleagues however they come in as a pattern. I would like to transform this piece into a custom symbol for future use. When I try to edit the pattern I don't have the master pattern they are patterns added to a drawing as a sample and the options provided are in German and with no experience in patterns I'm in over my head.

So basically your question is: How do I make something into a symbol when the colleague has the pattern master ? Correct?

If that is the situation then what I would do is a cgm export of what you want in the symbol, and then bring that into a clean file, and make the symbol from that.

I have never run into the problem of not being able to make a symbol from a pattern, so I am not sure if I am on the right track here or not.

goto the format -> pattern in the menu ( maybe hidden from role), there is a option to explode / import the pattern - get the geometrie into your part, -> from that point you can choose these elements for your own userdefined symbols

When I go to format->pattern I get 8 options retrieve pattern,expand pattern,update pattern, replace patterns, edit display parameters, list associated parts, list pattern errors, and create Pattern point. I don't see the explode. I was searching yesterday for this option. I like your idea of the cgm Jerry I'll try that, thanks. But I'd like to figure out the working of patterns.
