Does anyone know a web page that outlines the 1-D transient (time dependant) heat transfer equations for heat input to a material, conducted through that material to a cooling channel of known shape with constant fluid flow?
the time is included in the physical unit. Heat transfer codes (lambda) are always given in W/(m*K) and heat transfer coefficients (alpha) in W/(m^2*K). Knowing that
1 W=1 J/s=0.86kcal/h
allows you to calculate the energy content which is transferred during a time period.
