Trash Enclosure Gate Post Base Detail 1

I have been asked to provide foundation and base connection details for the base of a trash enclosure gate. Is there a standard way to detail this that people typically do?

We typically show a foundation wall and footing underneath the trash enclosure CMU walls, but usually aren't asked to provide the gate post base detail. The foundation wall and footing will at least run right up to the gate post. I know I've seen gate posts embedded in a concrete caisson embedded into the ground, but I'm not really sure how well that detail works for constructability if you have a foundation wall and footing overlapping this concrete caisson.

Do you continue the foundation wall/footing and connect the gate post to the top of that and then pour the trash enclosure slab around this?

I wasn't sure if people try to clip the top of the gate post off back to the CMU wall to help with the eccentric gate load and reduce or eliminate the moment that the post needs to resist at its base.

I'm curious if anyone has some quick thoughts or guidance on what they typically do for these.

For me it typically depends on the material. If the gate and fence are metal, then I leave the connection details up to the supplier. If the intent is wood, then I make sure that something is called off that's capable of resisting some moment.

For gate posts, with substantial gate leaves hanging off them, I revert to first principles for the post, footing, and connection design, then double everything. Have seen too many sagging gates, some supposedly designed by structural engineers. It's not something to skimp on.
