What are the typical NDE testings done by tray fabricator before shipping off the tray unit to the job site?

This question is more applicable to chemical process design and operations if you mean distillation trays..

Waht do you mean by NDE,,

As a minimum they should best the tray fits together correctly and can be assessmebled internally in the dimeter column that you are working within.

NDE stands for non-destructive testing such as radiographic examination, ultrasonic testing, mag particle testing etc. these tests are common in vessel fabrication, but what about tray fabrication? I will try to post my Q in some other more applicable forum.

Positive Material Identification (PMI) is probably about the closest thing to NDT (testing) or NDE (examination) you'll see done to trays. Trays that require welded fabrication my have liquid-penetrant inspection.

Quality assurance & control (QA/QC) measures are more applicable to trays than NDT/NDE.
