Triac + choke filter in a one single pcb moulded package ???

Hello all,


I search a manufacturer for a Triac + choke filter assembled in a single pcb moulded package ???

Would somebody have it an idea?

If you are talking about a generic one no I don't know of any. However most SSRs (Solid State Relays) are exactly this. They have optically isolated zero crossing fired, triacs with snubber networks integrated into them. If you need more info ask.

You are right about the SSR technology but in complement of
the snubber network ( if required by the triac ), I need a choke for limiting the harmonics to the main supply.

I wish finding all of this items in one package for
simplify the wiring and the size of the power PCB.

An another problem is that I need a random version of the
SSR because the system must be used for a dimming application ( but the random version exist and this is not
a problem )...


 
I'm sorry but why do you need random for lighting? That can make your lights gallop.

And if you need a choke for the mains then you need a real choke not a snubber.
 
:) Yes, but when I say random, that concern the firing mode
of the triac because with a zero crossing mode SSR, the
triac is firing at the next zero crossing after the input
command signal and with a random mode SSR, you can firing
the triac in any moment on the AC power phase.

So, because I will use the triac ( or the SSR ) for a dimer
configuration, I need firing the triac in any moment
on the AC power phase ( to be able to control the quantity of power sent to the load ).

About the snubber and the choke:

- in reality, the use of the snubber circuitry depend of the triac used ( is dI/dt characteristic ) but some triacs
( also called snubber less triacs ) no need a snubber.

Please, look here:
- and for the EMI radiations and the harmonics on the main,
I believe that it is preferable to use a choke in serie with the load.

So, please excuse my bad English => I hope that I have been clearly ??? ;-)
 
Okay so you are firing the triac somewhere and it shuts OFF
at the next zero crossing.

Finally, I will build the dimer with all separated devices
because I have not finding a complet unit with the triac, the choke and eventualy the snubber included in one package.

And 24 pieces of an 25A SSR relays with built in snubber is to expensive ( but it is true that it is a elegant solution;
unfortunately, the money is always the winner ).

An another important point is also that most SSR relays have a very long reaction time for a diming application.
