trouble starting a sketch in 1969.

i am having trouble starting a sketch in 1969. used to be able to set the cycs and sketch on the x-y plane. now, everytime i go to initiate shecth it jumps to what appears to be zero for whatever asm i am in at the time. dialog box for sketch seems to be lacking some choices that we used to have.

The dialog for creating a sketch plane at the start of a sketch is supposed to return in NX1980 series.
The workaround is to create your sketch then redefine the sketch plane.
Personally, I create a datum axis at the origin of my stetch and then select the plane I want
