Trouble with "shape" in Routing Electrical application

"Heal Path" creates a routing curve which almost always needs to be modified. "Shape" requires added points which must be moved by dragging the vectors. This method almost always results in a mess. I found that if I first create a path using a bridge curve I can place points on the curve and use the points to control the routing curve. When I delete points the routing curve reverts to its original shape, which means I can never 'select all' when deleting points. Is there a way to dis-associate the points from the routing curve? Is there a trick to moving the routing curve control points (this would be the ideal solution)?

Jayarbee,
It has been a while since I have used routing, but in my experience, I thought that if you were to move the points while looking perpendicular to them, they should always remain in the work plane, and it makes it a bit easier to drag them around. Regarding the associativve points, I cannot help you there, because I do not remember that particular behavior hapening to me.
Overall, what is your opinon of the routing tools? Do you use it for electrical? Or piping/conduit? It has come a long way since I last used it I think.
