Trying to simulate friction contact of two parts

Hello, I am a first time abaqus user.
I have two identical parts assembled as shown.
I'm trying to simulate the friction as they are both removed.
These are what I've been using but I'm not sure if they are correct.
Step: dynamic explicit
Interaction: general contact + penalty friction coeff + normal behaviour (hard contact, allow separation)
Boundary conditions:
- 1 part fixed: 0 in all 6 dof
- other part: see image for 2 boundary conditions

My result doesn't seem to generate friction along the sliding surfaces. Would appreciate help. thanks.

You should avoid applying BCs to whole parts involved in contact. But did you check the CSHEAR results and did you try refining the mesh in the contact region ?

Sorry, I am rather new to ABAQUS.
When I try to change the BC of the moving part, I keep getting problems. If I only select the cube that is the non-contacting part, only that part moves while the non-selected parts doesn't.
I've changed the BC of non-moving part to only apply at the base surface, looks like there is more color now.
I checked CSHEARMAG results and looks mostly blue
My mesh is currently C3D10 elements, if I try to reduce the element size it looks like more warnings appear during mesh check.

I'm not sure but it seems like 'general contact' cannot generate shear stress at rigid surface?

Well, there you are.
I removed all BCs for the moving part. coupled all nodes of moving part to a concentrated force.
I tried it and there's some stress generated but mostly all dark blue.
For some reason the moving part is slanted, I've tried follow and unfollow nodal direction both have the same results.
Did I do something wrong somewhere?
