Dear all

Typically tubes are held to the drum by tube expansion.

In what case does the tube (other than superheater, downcomer, and waterwall) need be held on the drum by welding?

Thanks

Aida

Tube attachment design is a function of boiler pressure. Higher boiler pressures require partial penetration welds versus tube rolling.

Dear metengr

Thanks for your response. May I know at what pressure partial penetration welds are required?

Thanks
