I'm trying to model a turning vane in Staad to investigate the effects of loads on the turning vane.
I was wondering if you guys have an idea on how to model the "curved plate" of the turning vane? I've been looking at this issue for a couple of weeks now and I can't seem to find anything. I'm trying to apply "wind" loads on a projection of the turning vane as well. Is there a way for Staad to put loads on the projection instead of the actual geometry?
I ended up splitting the plates into a few sections, but now the plate cannot be analyzed because the ratio is too small. Anyone care to help me with a solution? I attached my model in this post.
