Hi

I just wanted to just some advise on designing a steel cantilever beam which has the backspan picked up by two other steel cantilever beams which are perpendicular?
I basically want to know if there would be any issuing which this layout?
Currently I have two Cantilevered UC beams supporting the backspin of the PFC steel beam which is also cantilevered? I hope this make sense.
Appreciate the help in advance?

See basic layout below...

You have to watch out... that can be real springy... worse than a trampoline. How far is the cantilever?

Thanks for the response, yes I can imagine :)
The cantilever span on the UC is about 1.8m with approx. 6m backspan..

Any suggestion on the connection of the UC to PFC, either as a cleat plate with bolts or end plate with bolts?

That's a good start... I thought they were as long as the backspans. It's not a design issue; the design is easy. It's a vibration issue. What type of loading is it subjected to. Static loads I would hope.

Thanks yes cantilever isn't too long.
Yeh I thought so, there will be some floor loading...
It's just that the corner to the end PFC is also overhanging and the back spans are only supported by the tip of the perpendicular cantilevers hence I was a bit reluctant to go with this option and thought to seek a second opinion.
Appreciate your help :)

If you can avoid it... good. Framing is pretty bouncy and depending on the loading could be problematic.
