Type of Residential foundations and Commercial Foundations

Hi All,

I am wondering what kind of soil (in general) will encounter in El Paso and Laredo, TX. I believe they are way different than what we have in Dallas/Houston region.

Can anyone please share, what kind of foundations are normally used in these areas for typical residence and low rise buildings (<3 story).

The types of foundations will not be different, although their implementation may vary since some soils may lack the cohesion (and moisture) of the Dallas and Houston soils. Try the USDA soil survey tool.
