Hi everyone,

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer. I am interested in overall costs of protecting transmission and distribution substations (including relays, wiring, CTS and VTs, comms) and feeders for an academic study that I (I am a University Lecturer), and a PhD student, are undertaking. I am based in the UK, but any answers from anyone, anywhere, are extremely welcome. I realise some information may be sensitive, so please feel free to use ball-park/anonymised figures - I am just trying to get an idea of typical values.

Can anyone give advice on:

[ul]
[li]Relay costs (e.g. differential, distance, overcurrent, busbar) for transmission and distribtution protection applications[/li]
[li]Typical current/voltage transformer costs at different voltage levels[/li]
[li]Cost of wiring between CTs/VTs and relays and breakers (for line, transformer, busbar)[/li]
[li]Costs of protecting a transmission substation in terms of the above (encompassing busbars, feeders, transformers, etc.). Numbers of relays/CTs per feeder/bus etc?[/li]
[li]Costs of protecting a primary distribution sub in terms of the above (in the uk, this may consist of two 33/11kV transformers, the busbar(s) and the outgoing 11kV circuits)[/li]
[li]Any business case/cost benefit info relating to IEC 61850-9-2 - savings, installation/commissioning savings, through life costs savings, etc?[/li]
[li]Thoughts on cost savings offered by non-conventional instrument transformers?[/li]
[li]Anything else you think relevant :)[/li]
[/ul]

Thanks very much in advance.
