Feb 25, 2004 #2 ChrisConley Mechanical May 13, 2002 975 Using a textbook value for Slate of R = 0.1 for 1" Building the assembly as .375" Terracotta 1.25" Air .375" Terracotta I got an assembly R value of 2 hr-ft2-degF/Btu, or a U value of 0.5 Btu/hr-ft2-degF.
