UG-116(b)(1) signification of letter P VS type of construction

Hi every body,

I really don't know how a ''P'' type of construction pressure vessel is done (see UG-116(b)(1)). What is ''pressure welded'' process? Is it similar to the Furnace welded type process? Can you explain me how this ''Pressure welded'' process works?
