It's an urgent about nameplate text to follow up.

Is it required markings on a nameplate shall be in
characters not less than 5/32 in. (4 mm) high??

How about lower-case text?
For example: Good Job technical.

ChiangJaron, by my reading , 5/32 is min for nameplates, direct markings may be less for small vessels. I see no requirements as to cap / lowercase lettering. But all caps may be easier to read...

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Upper Case/Lower Case doesn't matter.....5/32" is what matters.

Question(s) and Reply(ies):
Question: UG-119(c)(1) in Section VIII, Division 1, states: "The required markings on a nameplate shall be in characters not less than 5/32 in. high..." Does this requirement pertain only to the required markings, and may supplemental data be of smaller size?

Reply: Yes.
