UG Automation Question

We have been using UG for many years, I have done all my automation using GRIP. I basicly hacked my way through it. I am looking to do more automation and would like to use VB/.net Can someone direct me where to find some examples and some "How to" information. Do I need to install any additional software to write and execute VB? Platform is PC 32 & 64bit, OS is XP Pro
Any help or examples would be appreciated.
