I've been having a problems with NX 2.0.5.2. In some sessions when I am switching in and out of drafting/modeling the display in UG become corrupted. Dialog boxes are blanked out and error messages are unreadable, etc. Some times I'm able to save and restart UG, other times, (like 5 min ago) it just crashes to the desktop resulting in the loss of work :(
The other problem I have is I get a general windows error saying that the graphics driver has stopped responding. This seems to occur at random and I have to do a hard reboot, also resulting in a loss of work. I am using the latest certified drivers UG provided on their site for the ATI Fire GL 8800. Also I am using WinXP with SP2. Any suggestions? UGS has not been able to give me an answer.
Thanks.

Try first with the latest driver for the Fire GL, not latest certified but latest. If that doesn´t work start windows task manager and let it just run and when problems occur check the processes how much ram it uses and total ram usage. If it´s the same region of ram usage when dropping use ram check software to secure that the ram memory is OK.

Last thing I think a total reinstallation

Tried that a while back, used memtest 86 and the latest driver from ATI made UG very slow and choppy.

Then I would recommend reinstallation of the workstation. I´ve came across something similary, then it was problems in the registrary and IT dept. couldn´t fix it so they reinstalled it.

We had a similar if not the same problem a while ago, again with NX2 and windows XP SP2. The solution posted on cadpo.com was to change the display properties/themes from windows XP to Windows classic on your desktop. this changes all the buttons to the simple grey ones.

since then we havnt seen the problem again
