As many of you know, the latest ASME Sec. VIII, Div. 1 2007 (A09) became mandatory in January, including the moderately revised UHX tubesheet calculations. This is also the year our company is re-evaluated to maintain our code stamps, so we must verify our software by a separate means (we currently use BJAC, which has proven to be unreliable on more than one occasion).
I have made a MCAD template to run the latest calculations (seven simultanious load cases including iteration), but I don't have any reliable examples to verify my template against. Hand calculations are not practical, and ASME never updated their UHX-20 examples to their own latest code.

Does anyone know where I can find some reliable examples with results, or know of some other method I can use besides an alternate off the shelf software?

Bam8888,

You can benchmark against UHX example provided in the ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 code book. They are very detailed and have been checked with multiple programs, MathCAD etc.

I would do just that Mandeep1, unfortunately the examples in UHX were never updated to A09 (quite irresponsible in my opinion, but I'm not on the Code committee). The best I can think to do is verify against PVElite as well as BJAC and see if the results match.

Thanks for the help.

There were not too many drastic changes in the A-09 addenda for UHX. You can still use those to do a benchmark.

best regards,
Mandeep Singh
