UL Listed Fire Standpipes

Our specifications required the pipes for the new standpipe system to be UL listed. When the pipes were delivered, some pipes with a certain heat number had UL labels while pipes with different heat numbers did not. The contractor explains that UL label is not required for it to be UL listed pipes. And he can provide a statement from the supplier stating the pipes without a label are UL listed. Should we accept these pipes if the contractor provide a statement from the supplier? Does UL required a label on all UL listed materials?

I don't believe that you MUST label in order for the UL listing to be valid provided you can solidly trace that product to an approval via its part number/manufacturing date,etc...
