Hello everybody

Currently we are looking for options to replace conventional static mixer with ultrasound mixer ~30kHz. We are going to mix ~30m3/h of gasoil with water-based stream 24/7 (continuous operation) in range from 50:1 to 100:1.
Does anyone have experience with these? Is there any risk of induced vibration? Is only bath operation possible? How to estimate power consumption? Any links will be appreciated.

Ultrasonic mixing is fairly new technology, and the average ChE doesn't understand it. I would want to witness a designed trial at the vendor, unless they gave a very strong performance guarantee.

Good Luck,

I didn't know ultrasonic mixing equipment above small pilot scale existed. I had to do some preliminary looking around for a cell and gene therapy project a while back, this company seemed like the most promising lead but I never had any detailed conversations with them.

Yes, that company sends me e-mails quite frequently too.

Good Luck,

I like my martinis shaken and not stirred comes to mind....
