If have the following question:
Do I need a partial data report (signed by a autorised inspector) for a pressure containing part of a UM-marked vessel if produced by another factory?
Or is it sufficient to test the part again in our shop and stamp it with our ouwn UM stamp?

To assure compliance with ASME B&PV Code Section VIII, Div 1 requirements, a pressure retaining part manufactured by another firm must have a Form U-2A, which is an Alternative Partial Data Report.

I will read and think further but...
I understand that you can not sub a UM vessel,
but on the othe hand: your shop is responsible for the mfg of the vessel and you could get away with a partial certification from another mfr.
You could get away but just be carefull because if your AI does not endorse the practice, you will loose the recertification at yearly audit. I am sure of that.

You better consult your AI (he still involved in your UM mfg and can review and INSPECT whenever he/she wants to)
