Hello,

I have a problem in drafting. when i update a view I get the following error message:
View Update Report
------------------

View name: SX@9
View type: Section view
Error: Unable to subtract solids for sectioning.

Recommended Actions
-------------------
o Choose Ignore to restore the view to the state it was in
prior to the update. This is the DEFAULT action.
o Choose Delete to delete the view and all associated objects.

Possible Corrective Actions
---------------------------
o Validate and fix the model
o Set view to manual update
o Set view to reference
o Recreate view
o Remove view
o Suppress view update
o Fix invalid section lines
o Validate layer settings
o Unsuppress suppressed solid bodies
o Re-establish section segment associativity in
Edit Section Line

Now I know after research that this problem came from 1 part I the assembly.
This is a part of a sub assembly. When in preform a section view in the sub assembly I don't have this problem.
The problem is only in the End Assembly.
What can i do about this?

Hi,
Please do run an EXAMINE GEOMETRY check on the part you figured out and correct any geometrical discrepancy

Hello Kapil Sharma,

This will not fix the problem. When i preform a section view on a drawing of part then i don't get the problem.
I only get the problem on the section view in the End assembly.

It still would be best if you went into the model file of the part that you suspect to be a problem and run Examine Geometry on it, and see what the issue will be . . . no it will not fix the problem but it may help you decipher what the problem is.

Try to move the section slightly to the side - ( can you at all section the model on the drawing ?). If this works you might have encountered a geometric situation which the section view cannot handle.
If you cannot at all section the model, i would assume the same as the other repliers, something invalid in the model. - Does it contain imported data from , step/Iges/DXF etc ? -if so, start by looking at the imported data rather than the NX-native geometry.

Regards,
Tomas
