After adding components to a part I am unable to use the assembly constraints to move them, although, I AM able to use "Move Component" to dynamically (or all other motion options) to transform them....EXCEPT the Transform --> by constraints is greyed out. Why would that be?

Yes the application is on...and yes...the parent file is the work part. This subassembly is part of a larger assembly. I also tried and closed the entire larger assembly...then opened just the subassembly in question and still the components dont like assembly constraints...

Also make sure that you're in the Modeling application. Also check the selection 'Type Filter'. It's best to simply leave it set to 'No Selection Filter'.

yes...both of those are also the case...in Modeling and "no selection filter"....I guess I should also mention that this subassembly is a user defined punch inserts created by the Piercing Insert command in the progressive die wizard application...I'm thinking The PDW has something to do with this.

Very likely. In fact, are you sure that they are even Components and not solid bodies 'Promoted' into what passes as an Assembly?

The components of the subassmebly are standard library fasteners that I added...
I thought that maybe the PDW was just flipping some standard ug setting or variable that would not allow assembly constraints...and was hoping to find it and flip it back.
