I have a question concerning item number 7, undercut in table 6.1 for statically loaded nontubular connections. I am not clear on the maximum depth of undercut for item (A). It looks like 1/32" for material less than 1" thick but then it states 1/16" is allowed up to 2" in 12". Could anyone clarify this?
Thanks

Undercut of the lesser depth is permitted with no limitation on the length of undercut. Deeper undercut is permitted as long as there isn't too much , i.e., not too much accumulated length per unit of length (12 inch lengths per unit).

Best regards - Al

and yes, 1/16" of undercut looks like the Grand Canyon. I suggest that you accept the weld, and get rid of the welder that did such terrible quality work.
