I am currently working on the design of a sawdust extraction system for a small industrial woodshop which must run underground. I am looking for ductwork suitable for this application. I have been recommended to use pvc-coated galvanized ductwork. However, I am concerned about the internal pvc coating producing static electricity buildup and hence a severe accident in the shop. Can the galvanized steel core layer produce and adecuate grounding? Has anyone used this type of duct before in other applications for dust conyeying systems?

I think it is common to pull a bare copper wire through the duct to serve as a ground when using non-conductive pipes for saw dust collection. Seems like that would work here.
