Hi!
I am having some troubles in simulation of a 3 point bending analysis.
In this 2D simulation, I am using cohesive elements in one of the sections, and this section is getting compressed, changing its volume, which should not happen.
Any ideas on how can I change that?

Can you attach some pictures - one showing the loads, boundary conditions and interactions in this model and one showing results ? Have you considered using surface-based cohesive behavior ?

There is a somewhat similar case in Abaqus documentation (Example Problems Guide): "Debonding behavior of a double cantilever beam". I would start from analyzing it to make sure that everything is set correctly in your target simulation. Cohesive elements are quite tricky to use and there are several steps that have to be followed to make them work properly. That's why I mentioned cohesive contact in previous reply - it's much easier to use and can be a good starting point for more advanced scenario involving cohesive elements.

I have already looked at that, but I don't notice anything that I should change.
