Has anyone ever seen this error message?

It is happening when I load a large file, and when I signal SmarTeam to save the file. It does not happen during a regular SolidWorks save.

I am running SolidWorks 2003. We just upgraded from SolidWorks 2001+, and we have all sorts of old file stored in read-only format.

Only when Ive accidentally clicked on the hidden backup file of a similar name.

Have you updated to the latest SP? If you can't get the files to open try them on other machines. If you still can't get the files open they may have corrupted. I would send them to your VAR for confirmation on the problem.

rocheey,

Hidden backup files could be interesting. I will investigate this. Thanks.

I have found out one more thing about this. One of my co-workers is also having problems. We are both running Windows XP. Everyone else here is on 2000 or NT4.

Also clear out your Temp files on under C:\Documents and settings\[login name]\Local settings\Temp If you don't have admin rights you won't be able to clean this out, also it maybe hidden and you will need to unhide the local settings folder.

I am having some bad problems with "unexpected file format" errors and "Invalid class found in file" errors. Basically I can't open any files I saved yesterday after 4:30 or so. It seems to have started in conjunction with a failed "Add New" into our PDM software (CMS-Product Center). But it also affects parts that were only saved, having had nothing to do with CMS. We are running 2001+ SP3 (don't ask). What, if anything were you able to learn when you were having these problems?
