Hello everyone,
I am a new forum member and I am having a problem with Unigraphics NX 5. I have made some parts and made the assembly needed and everything worked just fine.
I could load and save the files without any problems... until today! When I try to open some of the files (the older ones) I get the "could not open :filename: The following files could not be loaded causing this open to fail". This also happens on the assembly file since it is dependent on these files.
What is wrong? Can I save my files? Why did this happen?

I had the same problem in NX 5.0.0.25. Wheh I updated to NX 5.0.2.2 the bug was fixed!!![thumbsup2]

Check you load options. Sometime if you have files in different directories this error will come up if you have "load directories" selected. If you select load as saved, and reopen the file, it should load all the componets regardless of their location unless they were moved after they were saved. Otherwise, you may want to try search directories. When you save a file or assembly it creates a tag for the location of all the files. If those files are moved or deleted, you will receive that error since the directory called out by that tag (my term for it) does not contain the specified file or files. It is under FILE->OPTIONS->LOAD OPTIONS.

Since I have modified nothing and all the files still remain inside the same folder there is no logical explanation about it. There is no reason to update my unigraphics.Yesterday it worked, today it JUST doesn't!!

Well I just found the solution and I would like to share it with you. It appears there is a trigger related to the system date and when it passes you cannot load some files (I cannot recall when I built the files so I wouldn't know the exact trigger size). I simply changed the system date one day back and everything opened just fine!
Boo for UGS if this happens to make us update the software!!
