Has anyone seen a beam like this? Whole box section is about 9-3/8" tall, 5" wide. Looks like a box beam/double channel from the inside. Has a #5 or #6 rebar in each corner and vertical rebar at the premanufactured hole. All welded up, but no concrete in sight. Hole is obviously premanufactured, not cut in-field, and 6" diameter. Used as the central load bearing beam of a house built in 2017. Any info/insight would be appreciated.

Yes! I have. My former boss put one in his house. Don't recall the name. I'll see if I can come up with something in a bit....

That honestly looks a lot like a delta beam, without the bearing flanges for the hollowcore. The welded rebar is how they increase the capacity without increasing the size, alternately, when fire rating is required, the rebar acts as the tension chord and the bottom flange of the delta beam is considered sacrificial in a sense.

Maybe similar to a delta beam, but its definitely box shaped, not trapezoidal. Probably follows a similar design concept though

What's the goal on your end? Just for understanding? Or are you modifying it in some way.

I'm an engineer who is coming up with plans to remove load bearing wall above. Might have to bring a post down on it. Shouldn't be much additional shear, but thought it would be good to understand the beam that I am setting it on.

It might be some cobbled together Dietrich TradeReady joists?

PMR06 - unlikely. I've seen these before, and that's too clean to be a site job by a contractor. They are a proprietary product that I know was manufactured around 2016. I'm having trouble finding information. "Gator Beam" comes to mind, but doesn't turn anything up...
