If anyone cared I just wanted to give an update on what I did and where I am currently at. I took the plunge last year and gave my two weeks notice to my employer and they were understanding. As of right now I graduate in November with a BSEE and I already have a job lined up. Unfortunately it is not with my old employer as they are currently going through a budget issue but the job I do have lined up is with an Engineering company which will have me supporting my old employer for at least a year. After that I will be working remotely most of my time from home to support various other plants.

Looking back at the decision I think it was worth it in every way. Thanks for all the advice from the other thread as that really helped me contemplate my decision prior to making it.
