update parts from assembly

Sorry to ask a basic question
If I'm working in an assembly and alter one of the parts I.E cut a hole in it can I refelct that change back to the original parts model.

Go to "Assembly Features", in tree scroll down to "Feature Scope", "Propagate feature to parts". Select all components or select components.

If the part is in Edit mode inside the assy, you are actually working at the part level and any changes would be reflected in the part.

CAUTION: If there is more than one copy of the part on a drive you have access to... - the changes you make, may not be reflected. Generally speaking, SolidWorks is good about this...best rule though is to only have one copy.

My assembly features does not have feature scope in it or am I in the wrong spot
