What voltage is the battery typically floating at? Usually a 480V UPS will have the battery float at 480V+ to be able to recreate the 480V sinwave.

Is this a large system? What does the user manual indicate regarding battery voltage?

Not sufficient information to give you any help.
Battery type and chemistry?
Cell size?
Number of cells?
Normal float voltage?
This battery test that you did: Exactly what did you test and how did you test?

Something else not clear to me: What is the relationship between a "Naster UPS" and a "Slave UPS?

we have 15 kva ups one master one slave up with 20 nos 12v ni-cd battery for each UPS.problem has been solved. one of the battery of master ups had very low voltade(internally got opened),detected during load test...replaced it..now alarm went.our power plant DCS system is supported by this UPS system.thannx to all.

but one thing is tere I would like to know..What is "rectifier error" shown in ups display during surge at input.we have to restart the ups to reset the fault.as far as I know an IC in ups ckt when gets hot then it shows rectifier fault alarm which is resetable.any ideas will be welcomed.thanx again to all.
