Well you must be a smart kid if you are doing a PhD, so I suggest you look at the tutorials and the help files, which at least on my computer are quite instructive.

I hope that your PhD has better spelling than what you've done here. I suggest that you peruse the Mathworks site; it shows a number of forum entries related to Python.
