Any problems with this? The design calls for a Square-D LAL36400 400A breaker, The same breaker with shunt trip is available new for a lot less from an NOS supplier. I imagine the shunt circuit can just be ignored and it will function identical to the regular breaker?

So the Square-D breaker with shunt trip is cheaper than the Square-D breaker without shunt trip ?

Surely not. Sounds like you are getting a bargain.

What does NOS mean ?

"New Old Stock". Usually refers to stuff that
has be superceded by a later version, or just
possibly that it has been on a shelf for years. :)
Almost always un-used, generally still in the box.

The shunt trip should not be of any concern.
