Hello,

I have used the USGS website for a number of years. It has been very helpful in determining S1 and Ss values to approximate for international locations. Recently they have revamped the website and it doesn't give values for a fraction of the locations that it used to. Am I using this thing wrong or has this been other people's experience as well? Today I was interested in a site in Australia but there isn't one known point there per this tool.

Thanks

Thanks Hawkaz,

I still can't get it to give me anything for Australia.

I have not used the worldwide tool in quite a while. I just looked really quickly. The funny thing is if I scroll from the US east toward Australia, there are 7 sites with pins. If I scroll west to get to Australia, there are none. Was there ever more than 7 sites in Australia?

Not to be sarcastic.. but doesn't USGS have united states in it? Federal Agency I believe, so not surprising they are not supporting other countries.

Doesn't the Australian government have a similar agency?
I honestly do not want my Federal Tax Dollars supporting other countries, sorry.

wannabeSE, that's funny it does work if I head east to Aussie rather than west. thanks for that.

TDIengineer - I'm not a big fan of government spending but this is a very helpful tool for us engineers who ship buildings internationally. If USGS didn't provide this service it would be a lot harder to get this information.

It does seem that other countries have a similar tool. I had to look into a structure in Canada and they have a tool very much like the USGS one. I would imagine AUS would have their own as well, with more data.

maybe that link can give you good info?

Thanks for all the help guys, I should be good from here.
