Using a 50Hz ballast light with 60Hz supplied. 2

I have a new fluorescent ballast light from Australia that states on the ballast that it is 220V 50Hz. I will be connecting it to 220V 60Hz. Will I have any problems with this in the future and what will they be? I know that a 50Hz motor running on 60Hz will run hot and burn up. Is the same true with a ballast?

You have it backwards.

The ballast will probably work okay going to 60Hz.

I'd certainly test it though. Keep checking the temp of the ballast until you are confident it isn't getting too hot.
