Using an assembly to cut a part. 2

Hi - I'm hoping this is another 30 second question for someone 'in the know'

I have a handle assembly with 2 screws running through it. The handle is then mated to a base.
The front screw is fine, but i dont have a hole in the base for the rear screw.

Can i use the screw itself to 'cut' its hole into the base? I have a feeling this shouldn't be difficult.....but i can't begin to find a way.

There's a picture attached to make things clearer.

I would just use the same plane that you used to make your clearance hole in the original part and make a HW hole in your assembly that extends into the base part. You can propagate assembly features into the parts in 2009.

You may want to make the handle a "Smartpart". You could then assemble the handle on the base. The base would not have any holes, yet. You then tell the "Smartpart" to apply its "Smart features" and it would put the holes in the base and put screws in the holes. Look at the HELP to see how to define a Smartpart.
