Using CATIA v422 ref 1, TEXTD2, keyboard

When in textd2 and normally using CAPS-ON for upper case alpha/numeric characters, and then using the shift-key to produce LOWER case characters I get symbols instead of lower case alpha/numeric characters.

I am unable to find any reference to this problem elsewhere including IBM support sites, thinking it is maybe a bug fixed in a later 422 refresh level or catia v4 release.

Anyone got any ideas?
