Using Excel for Tables in Configurations.

Hi Everyone,

I have tried to saerch on this subject matter but the search engine dones not work properly.

We are currently using Excel 2000 to generate configurations in both part models and assembly models.
They now want to update to either Excel 2003 or 2007 (not sure yet).

Has anybody experienced glitches/problems using the newer versions and does anyone have any experience of running two versions of Excel on the same PC.

Why would you run two versions on the same PC? 2003 is pretty backward-compatible with 2000 files and vice versa. 2007 is a big change, though. Unless everyone in your organization is going to 2007 I would advise a bit more investigation before you make the jump. However, I've been using 2003 for quite a few years not with no problems.

I'm using 2007 without problems, aside from not being able to figure out where things are. It's a lot like Vista, but stable.

This probably won't affect too many users configs, but you never can tell how one bug can affect other parts of the system;

I will stay away from Excel 2007 till they get this fixed.
