Using Sub-Assemblies in Animations

Hi everyone,

I am trying to make an AVI for a project presentation. The project is an assembly with parts and sub-assemblies. One of the ways things move in it is by fading away parts to reveal what is beneath them. The problem is that parts contained in subassemblies seem to be impossible to 'animate' or faded away. I tried to dissolve the sub-assemblies into parts, which solves the problem, but messes up the mates and the explosion steps.

Does anyone know how can I also make these parts disappear or fade away or hide at one step of the AVI, preserving the 1-explosion 2-mates, in this order of priority?

Note: I am using SW2000 (no plus no SP)

Thanks in advance
Sorin

If memory recalls, when I tried doing a similar thing a while back it could not be achieved without IPA, (the additional animation package for SW). But this was a very complex model. Alternatively have you tried right click on part, face properties and going to advanced and turning the transpanency up between keyframe markers.

Thanks Demo,

That's exactly the way I went (transparency to max inbeween markers), but for some reason it didn't work; maybe I did something wrong. What do say is the other way?
