Good day, i have a question regarding risers, im designing a school having very large total area. it has a open field in the middle so the classroom are located at side of the oval field. the owner whats to have sprinkler protection throughout the campus. i proposed two risers since the area is too big making a very long pipe runs. im asking for pieces of advice how can i design such educational institution having that big area. thanks in advance.

can you explain further? btw since the school i just expanding the new fire protection system will be supply by the existing fire pump in the site, having a underground fire mains.

Will all buildings be sprinkled?

Total sq ft of all old and new??

We need the sq ft of each building since NFPA 13 limits coverage to 52k sq. ft. per riser. Provide the info requested by cdafd so we can help you.

As long as your system areas are in compliance with NFPA 13, then I envision this:

You have a central pump that is supplying an underground fire main system.

From that underground system, you bring one riser into one building and then the other riser into the building on the other side of the oval field.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to make it clearer than that without plans and details.

Shoot me something direct via email and I can look at it.
