Good Evening,
I am looking to do some very basic calculations that involve making a pressure vessel (24" OD with caps on each end) and want to use Weld O lets for the nozzle connections.
I have reviewed Section VIII div I and cannot seem to track down how to handle these connections.
Section I and B31.1 would not require a calculation for the opening due to the use of an Weld O Let and its consideration as an integrally reinforced fitting. However, this is more geared towards piping openings and not pressure vessels. The vessel I am looking to calculate is a 24" OD vessel, with 8" and 4" openings. So its very similar to a piece of pipe with nozzles.
Can you please provide some guidance and point me in the right direction to understand how to treat an O let used for an outlet by Sec VIII Div I?
Thanks,
Rob
