I am working on a project to install utility support frame. The utility load rate estimated 10 psf. The roof assembly is consists of cold formed steel joist, hard ceiling and metal deck roof top as shown in the attached picture. we are planning to install the metal deck prior to the hard ceiling. I am planning to attach 1-1/2" wide metal plate to the joist bottom flange. Once the hard ceiling installed, then I am planning to attach the utility support unistrut frame to the joist flange and added plate using self tapping screw. I am adding the plate to get enough thread for self-tapping screw that will be used to attach the unistrut. Keep in mind, access to the joist is restricted because the metal deck and hard ceiling will be installed prior to the unistrut. If possible, I would like your in put if this is a good design or have any recommended method. My major concern is how to keep the self tapping screw from loosening? Does threadlocker liquid work with self tapping screws to prevent loosening?
