V5 Drafting - Can't cut a Section, any ideas?

Hello everyone,

While making section cuts within a large assembly, Catia V5 quite making the geometry of the section. It only creates the view and leaves it's status at a "needs to upate" I don't get any geometry. It worked for other sections within in the same file then quite working. Any Ideas out there? I am running V5 r12 sp5

Have you tried isolating the view you want to creat a section view of.
Just an idea not sure if that will work.

You seem to have reached a limit, this is where the numbers come in:
1. How much memory do you have?, Catia can use 2.8 gig.
2. How many models are you referencing?
3. Do you use the CATDUA?
4. How big is the Drawing file?
When they get past 35 meg they don't behave well. I would split the drawing into multiple files.

I finally did get it to work, I just havent't had a chance to post the solution(s)

I had two issues going on.

Problem 1:

First, one section cut I was trying to create was through the center of the part, this plane was a plane most of the parts where mirrored across.

Solution 1: I offset the section cut .1mm and it worked. Not a "Perfect solution" but it got me some geometry.

Problem 2: I couldn't cut anymore sections, I had cut 5 but Catia wouldn't let me cut anymore. I was cutting through about 25 parts and the drawing size was only around 9megs (at this point).

Solution 2: I loaded Service Pack 5 for Catia V5 r 12, and I was all set.
