Alright, so I use NX at work, but since my university requires that I take a class in CATIA I went out and bought the Student license. Last night playing around with it I tried to open some files I had brought home from the office, both in STEP214 format. Each time I tried to open them it just said that no translator was available.
Am I missing something? Do I have to be in a specific workbench to open STEP files. Or does the student license not allow you to open STEP files? Does it allow you to open anything else, like IGES or STL? I'd understand not being able to export files to keep the whole no commercial use, but restricting the input data types? So I'm assuming the fault lays with the fleshy bit at the keyboard.
