I am looking for input regarding how to determine the acetylene gas flow rate for vacuum carburizing based on the total surface area of the basket. Vacuum furnace manufacturer recommendation is 150-200nl/hr of acetylene for 1square meter. how does this translate into 1500slph? I am taking in to account the surface area of the entire basket instead of surface area of the ring. Furnace program for 8620 or 9310 suggests 1500slph flow rate. how does this correlate to 150-200nl/hr? New to vacuum carburizing and hence looking for some guidance.
